Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Scale Up Project (WASH-SUP) - Cambodia
Market based approaches can meet the WASH needs of poor rural households effectively, efficiently, and sustainably. WASH-SUP will leverage iDE’s success implementing Sanitation Marketing (SanMark) and use a market-based approach to further address rural Cambodians unmet WASH needs. It will create new aspirational and affordable WASH products that are demanded by households that can be sold through the local private sector. iDE will simultaneously build the sales and business capacity of local enterprises and roll-out innovative WASH financing options. The overall objective is to further expand WASH product adoption through sustainable private enterprise(s) that will continue to serve the market.
Activities for sanitation will be implemented in 7 provinces in Cambodia (Svay Rieng, Prey Veng, Kandal, Kampong Thom, Siem Reap, Banteay Meanchey, Oddar Meanchey). Activities for water and hygiene will be implemented in the same 7 provinces as well as an additional 4 provinces (Takeo, Kampong Speu, Kampong Cham, and Kampong Chnang).
