WASH and Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs)

This provides a list of courses and scholarships suitable for WASH practitioners from across the WASH sector.

“The materials in this e-course were developed and piloted in late 2013 through Emory University's Centre for Global Safe Water and The Task Force for Global Health.

By utilizing these materials, WASH practitioners will be able to:

  • Explain the impact of WASH on the NTDs;
  • Promote increased planning of WASH-sector activities for targeted implementation in NTD-endemic areas for sustainable health gains;
  • Promote the measuring and evaluation of health outcomes specific to the NTDs;
  • Promote communication of health outcomes specific to the NTDs through advocacy and policy development.

Each module includes:

  • A recorded lecture from experts involved in the intersection of WASH and NTDs
  • PowerPoint presentations of lectures
  • Supplemental readings

The website provides additional materials to supplement the e-course, as well as country-specific versions of "WASH and the NTDs: A Manual for WASH Implementers."
